New to jetbox?
Jetbox puts you in control over your website. It manages content in several ways:
- To quickly create a fully dynamic website use the page tree. This allows you to create pages in a tree like structure. You can choose a template for the general layout of the page or even generate new templates with the integrated wizard.
- If you want more control and flexibility you can use one of the contents specific administration containers for news, events, downloads, links or contacts.
Unique is the option to create new administration and website sections with the integrated wizard. This enables you to administrate and publish new or imported data on the website within minutes. Just select the database-table you want to administrate and Jetbox does the hard work of generating the PHP code. For more information check out the tutorial.
Jetbox uses roles to administrate the userrights, per container (administration section) you can specify which user is allowed access and if he may publish content directly on the website, or has to request publishing via the integrated workflow first.
Why you should not choose jetbox:
Don't choose jetbox if you are looking for a portal solution like mambo or PHP nuke or if your looking for a full featured weblog or if you don't know anything about PHP or SQL databases:
A simple test: Do you know how to; display only 5 rows of an SQL query, join to SQL tables together, the difference between true and "true" or echo and return.
Why you should:
If you are looking for a CMS that allows you to customize the front-end without hacking the whole system. Have a client with specific wishes for interactive elements. Like a soccer tournament pool system with full support for sorting and cross-referencing on the front-end, that is still easy to administrate for the general non tech savvy user. If you know your way around PHP but don't like fuzzy OO code.
